A prescriber is a medical practitioner who can authorize the use of medication. This may include a medical doctor (MD), nurse practitioner (NP-C), psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMH-NP), or physician’s assistant (PA-C). Providers may have additional certifications or training in working with the perinatal population.
